Remove PDF Metadata

Shows exactly what your document is carrying — author, software, timestamps — before removing it, because finding out is usually the reason you came.

Runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded

Nothing is uploaded — the file is opened here on your device.

Your file never leaves this device. The whole operation runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, queued on a server, or deleted later, because nothing was ever sent.

See it before you strip it

Every other metadata remover deletes silently and tells you nothing — but the reason you came is to find out whether your document was leaking anything. What was actually in the file is listed below, and only then removed.
Why use it

Built to be genuinely useful

See it before you strip it

Every other remover deletes silently. This lists what was actually in your file.

Keep the title if you want

Useful when the title is the document name, not yours.

Your file never leaves the device

The work happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing has to be trusted or deleted later.

Free, no sign-up, no watermark

No account, no page limit, and no badge stamped on the output.

How it works

Three steps

  1. 1

Drop in the PDF — the metadata is read and listed immediately.

  2. 2

Decide whether to keep the title.

  3. 3

    Download a clean copy.

What PDFs carry without telling you

Author is the big one — it is usually taken from the account name on the machine that produced the file, so a document exported from a home computer can carry a full personal name into a professional context.

Producer and Creator name the software and often its version, which says something about your setup. Creation and modification timestamps say when you worked on it, which can be more revealing than it sounds: a document dated the day before it was supposedly written is a detail people have been caught by.

Title is sometimes the original filename, which can be an internal reference or an earlier draft name you would not choose to publish.

Why showing it first is the point

People reach for a metadata remover because they have heard PDFs leak information. What they actually want to know is whether theirs does — and every other tool strips silently and tells them nothing, so they end up no better informed than before.

The fields present in your file are listed here first. If there is nothing to remove, that is stated too, which is a genuine answer rather than a wasted download.

What this does not remove

Document properties are cleared. Content is not touched — a name inside the text of the document, a signature image, or details in a scanned page all remain, because they are the document rather than metadata about it.

Embedded attachments and any XMP metadata written by specialist software may also persist. For genuinely sensitive publication, review the visible content as well.
